Come experience all the wildness and beauty of the remote islands in the Southern Sea of Cortez on this unique journey! Explore the three islands of Espiritu Santo, San Jose and San Francisquito with 6 days of camping, paddling, snorkeling and fishing along their shores. This is an itinerary like no other with combining some of our favorite places into one comprehensive sea kayaking trip. Our crew grew up in this area and will literally take you on a journey through their “back yard”!

We will explore the best snorkeling areas around the islands where you’ll find abundant tropical fish, friendly sea lions and possibly even the largest fish to inhabit the ocean, the docile whale shark. Visits to local fishing communities will give you an opportunity to potentially meet some of our crew’s family and sample their incredible hand made tortillas. San Jose island features a mangrove estuary for a unique kayak tour while San Francisquito Island presents beautiful ridges for hiking with vistas of the clear blue ocean below where whales, dolphins and mantas can be spotted swimming by. Then there is the jewel of the Sea of Cortez, Espiritu Santo Island, with its turquoise bays and white sand beaches surrounded by volcanic cliffs.

Time will be spent as evenly as possible between the 3 islands depending on the winds and waves with the idea to camp on 2 to 4 different beaches. Days exploring these islands will be full of kayaking, snorkeling, hiking and fishing with nights spent sleeping in our comfortable mobile camp under brilliant starry skies.

Come join us on this exciting tour visiting what we believe are some of the Southern Sea of Cortez’s most wild and scenic regions…

Day 8

Travel day for getting to the airport to return home or continuing your trip in Baja.

B/L/D indicates meals included with trip cost.
Although we do our best to adhere to the above itinerary, it is subject to change for reasons beyond our control including weather and the presence of wildlife. Snorkeling with whale sharks is completely weather dependent (calm seas are necessary) so this activity will depend on the weather and presence of sharks when passing their feeding ground on our way to or return from Espiritu Santo Island. We will attempt to provide you with at least one encounter of snorkeling with whale sharks when they are present and the weather is calm during trips from October through mid to late March, sometimes even into April.

Upon the chance the port is closed due to high winds and we can not get a group to the island on departure day we will provide a land based activity for this day.
