All our guides are from Mexico, most from Baja. As a Mexican company comprised of locals we know Baja better than most; its weather, waters, landscapes, people, wildlife, cultural and natural history. When you do a trip between Loreto and La Paz with Mar Y Aventuras most of the villages along the coast are relatives of our staff. This creates a safe, family oriented feel to our trips. Many of our guests claim they feel like family as they travel with our guides and crew through a foreign country.

Our leaders possess a variety of education and training in sea kayaking, marine biology, archaeology, geology, history, guiding and wilderness first aid. Most of our guides have been guiding for a minimum of 10 years, with several guiding as many as 15 to 20 years.

Quality Equipment

All our trips are supported by motorized boats (22-30′ open skiffs) equipped with marine band radios, adding a great measure of safety to each trip. We purchase and maintain top quality equipment. We believe your experience is enhanced by the use of good quality, easy to use, comfortable equipment. Skiffs also provide the luxury of carrying heavy loads, including coolers with ice, from camp to camp so your kayaks are light and easy to paddle.

Excellent Food

We prepare the most delicious meals you’ll ever taste using local fresh fruits, vegetables, herbs, spices and meats stored in large coolers full with ice. Special diets can be accommodated due to the variety of foods we are able to carry. Fresh fish is often a part of every Baja trip via folks interested in catching their dinner, keeping only what we can eat. We provide a happy hour each evening featuring a favorite local appetizer and cocktail.
